Assemblage Sculpture

An assemblage sculpture, created with a broken wood frame, a blue ribbon, a white and gold ribbon, and a hastily painted block of wood. All of the elements contained within this sculpture are meticulously balanced. Standing in a gallery, behind a blank white wall, this sculpture crosses us with line and color, familiar shapes and unfinished edges. Speaking to each individually, it highlights a quiet and rather feminine strength and beauty that doesn’t rest because of knowledge and past experiences of hardship, but in spite of them.
